From sheets and blankets to dusters and floor cloths only the best were good enough to be put on the shelves of his Harrogate shop. When unable to find an item that lived up to his standards, he would have one made.

Only the finest products can bear his label, even the simple tea towel. Completely frustrated by the lack of quality and usefulness of available kitchen tea towels, he went to Ireland to locate a manufacturer capable of creating a dishcloth he deisgned. It had to be long lasting, highly absorbent, and keep its whiteness. Satisfied that all of his requirements were met, he placed his first order and sold the first of what would become his famous dishcloth.
